2012 Africa Mining Congress : Thank you for your participation in the 2012 Africa Mining Congress® in Livingstone. It was great having you with us and we are excited to provide you with this year’s post-show results. Here are some of the highlights: 74 -- Number of investors, institutional and private equity attendees 232 -- Total number of Attendees 71 -- Mining companies represented (61 of them presenting) 29 -- Types of mineral opportunities represented by companies attending 27 -- Different country opportunities represented by companies attending 621 -- Total number of 1:1 meetings held during conference Companies noticed more private equity funds attended this year, as well as new institutional funds we have never had before. While we missed some familiar faces, the new ones we saw brought added variety and value to our group. There were 110 new attendees this year out of the 242 total registrants. Also, the mix of investors changed to include representatives from Russia and China demonstrating the widening appeal of Africa’s most focused mining investor conference. The unique blend of so many mining companies with projects in Africa obviously remains attractive to investors and proves that investors are interested in far more than just the gold and base metal companies we have seen in the past. The presence of a mix of key investment bankers from a number of top financial institutions continues to add to the overall opportunities presented by this unique meeting place. The fact that the conference represents the opportunity to meet a number of debt and equity providers gives mining companies the chance to seek financial advice, services, and support from both bankers and investors in one place. Our advisory committee has been planning for a top-notch analyst panel and investor group to present top picks and market trends at next year’s conference. Additionally, we are seeking an expert speaker for the key-note address as per suggestions of our attendees. Thank you again for your on-going support of the Africa Mining Congress. We promise to continue to improve this Congress each year and to listen to suggestions, work on the internet, follow commodity demands and investors requests as we go forward in developing future programs. 2010 Modern Energy Investor Forum : Greetings and Welcome to the Modern Energy Investor Forum 2010 (MEIF). Thank you to our underwriters and supporters, including Haywood Securities, our Gold Conference Underwriter, the Toronto Stock Exchange for hosting our opening reception, Byron Securities for hosting the Italian Banquet dinner, and IBK Capital hosts of our luncheon. I want to thank all of the expert speakers, company representatives, and our moderators for sharing their insights with us during the program. It is through the contributions of each of these people that make it possible for MEIF to be such a great success. This year is our fifth conference on energy, and in that time I have met hundreds of people involved in this Modern Energy sector. We are positive about the future of the business of energy and have invested our time, resources, and money into this area for the past 5 years, and continue to do so as we work alongside of companies and investors to help them maneuver these markets. MiNE LLC is now one of the most connected groups in the marketplace when it comes to knowing the companies and the investors in energy, resources, and mining, with a track record spanning over 25 years. This market is ever-changing and still challenging with the recession, but things are starting to get done, and funds are starting to come to select projects, so there is some movement. This year I put together the program for MEIF to reflect pertinent subjects in energy and resources, based on my observations, interviews, and feed-back from our companies and attendees. The MEIF 2010 program is designed in such a fashion to "build-on" each presentation, so that there is a holistic and full-cycle view of the segments we have put together for our sessions in: Finance; Base Load Power; Power Management; and Power Storage. Each session features, key advisors and experts to talk about and answer questions of attendees. Every attendee is here for a reason and MiNE LLC is here to facilitate networking and relationship building throughout the conference to increase the value for your time and energy in being here.
