Greetings and Welcome to the Modern Energy Investor Forum 2010 (MEIF). Thank you to our underwriters and supporters, including Haywood Securities, our Gold Conference Underwriter, the Toronto Stock Exchange for hosting our opening reception, Byron Securities for hosting the Italian Banquet dinner, and IBK Capital hosts of our luncheon. I want to thank all of the expert speakers, company representatives, and our moderators for sharing their insights with us during the program. It is through the contributions of each of these people that make it possible for MEIF to be such a great success.
This year is our fifth conference on energy, and in that time I have met hundreds of people involved in this Modern Energy sector. We are positive about the future of the business of energy and have invested our time, resources, and money into this area for the past 5 years, and continue to do so as we work alongside of companies and investors to help them maneuver these markets. MiNE LLC is now one of the most connected groups in the marketplace when it comes to knowing the companies and the investors in energy, resources, and mining, with a track record spanning over 25 years. This market is ever-changing and still challenging with the recession, but things are starting to get done, and funds are starting to come to select projects, so there is some movement.
This year I put together the program for MEIF to reflect pertinent subjects in energy and resources, based on my observations, interviews, and feed-back from our companies and attendees. The MEIF 2010 program is designed in such a fashion to "build-on" each presentation, so that there is a holistic and full-cycle view of the segments we have put together for our sessions in: Finance; Base Load Power; Power Management; and Power Storage. Each session features, key advisors and experts to talk about and answer questions of attendees. Every attendee is here for a reason and MiNE LLC is here to facilitate networking and relationship building throughout the conference to increase the value for your time and energy in being here.
